Cherbourg - Octeville is a beautiful maritime town situated in the heart of the north of France offering a fantastic choice of restaurants and bars as well as an incredible marina.

The port is also in close proximity to some of France’s best tourist attractions and major cities. Cherbourg is only 1 hour from the city of Bayeux (home of the Bayeux Tapestry) on the N13. In 1 hour 30 minutes you can arrive at the city of Caen and a drive of 2 hours will bring you to the incredible Mont Saint-Michel. Paris is a 4 hour drive and is easily accessible using the A13.

The port is easily accessible from the D900 and D901 routes which bisect Cherbourg. The fastest route from the south is the N13 which terminates at the roundabout outside the port. The port is clearly signposted on major routes.

Free and payable car parking is available at the port.

The train station, which is a five minute drive from the port, has great connections to multiple destinations across France. Paris is 3 hours 30 minutes away from Cherbourg by train.

Upon your arrival in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, you can easily get to the city center or to the train station thanks to the Ferry Shuttle provided by the region, which will be up and running every day between 1 July and 25 August 2024. The Shuttle includes 3 stops in the city center.

Shuttle departures take place from Ferry Terminal, 1 hour after the ferry's arrival in port.

For those about to take the ferry, shuttle departures towards the Ferry Terminal take place 2 hours before ferry departure at the Cherbourg train station.

Tickets can be purchased on board the shuttle for €1.50 and are valid for 1h.
